21st Century has witnessed disruption in the conventional system of doing things, introducing fast and smart strategies using the aid of the internet across all platforms with agriculture inclusive. These innovative disruptions have been accepted by various people across the world especially in the commercial sector which involves buying and selling, thereby giving business owners the capacity to cross boundaries without any limitation with respect to who or where.
To this regards, a yearly event has been built to provide more insights on how local businesses can take advantage of this new system of value exchange, the event is tagged SOUTH WEST ECOMMERCE SUMMIT EXPO. This year hosted the second edition tagged “START TO FINISH” which held in the city of Ibadan, Oyo State from the 25th to 27th of March, 2019. The Afrimash Team was present at the event, being a space that we operate in.
Afrimash leverages the power of e-commerce to improve the speed and efficiency of input distribution from manufacturers to farmers. Our mission is to make agriculture convenient for everyone. Hence, we focus on making online shopping convenient and affordable for farmers by cutting out unnecessary inventory and middlemen that normally compound the cost of farm inputs. Right from our e-commerce site, farmers can easily place orders for their livestock (which include various breeds of broilers, pullets, cockerel, point of lay), poultry equipment (drinkers, feeders, etc.) as well as eBooks on how to manage their farms successfully.
The event had the presence of lots of brands, local and international; all coming together to discuss and share insights on how to leverage technology to help solve today’s toughest business. With over 3000 attendees for the three days, over 36 speakers as well over 75 business exhibitors, it was such a perfect event for business owners to get bigger exposure.
