Afrimash Partners Livestock247 to Improve Accessibility to Farm Inputs

The constant challenges plaguing the livestock industry in Nigeria has been a constant source of concern for the government, farmers, businesses, consumers and other stakeholders in the agricultural sector. Thus, adaptive models to the Nigerian clime has been proposed and explored by different quarters.

Livestock247 and her partners decided to embark on an intensive cattle fattening program to complement the Federal Government’s National livestock Transformation Project (NLTP). This Feedlot Program is expected to provide the growing Nigerian population with access to affordable, traceable and fit-for-slaughter livestock. Such a program is expected to involve veterinarians, producers, e-commerce platforms, financial institutions, logistics companies, government officials, buyers, ranchers, livestock merchants, etc in a field as well as online cycle.

On the 23rd of July 2019, Afrimash Company Limited and Livestock247 successfully brokered a partnership deal at the latter’s head office at Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos state. Present at the signing were Dr. AyoadeOyedotun (Co-founder and Head of Operations), Dr. Charles Nwishienyi (Head of Partner Experience) and Miss AkinloyeDamilola (Head of Corporate Sales) for Afrimash and Ibrahim Maigari (Co-founder/CEO) and Dr. Adebayo Sopeju (Country Head and Quality Control) for Livestock247.

This partnership will seek to improve models and approaches aimed at easing the challenges of farmers in getting access to agricultural equipment. It will also offer custom and tailored services all entwined in a tested vendor-logistics-customer experience approach. This was necessitated to leverage on the existing brands, explore access to an ever-increasing number of livestock farmers as well as gain traction with other potential partners in allied sectors.

With this partnership, we look forward to the sustainability of novel models for the livestock industry value chain, and an improvement in the farm-to-fork structure and servicing of a larger number of the farming population.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
